I'm looking to build a gaming rig with an RTX 5070 Ti and want to get the best performance, especially for ultra 4K settings in demanding games, as well as multitasking and heavy video editing. Considering the longevity of my investment, which processor would be a better choice: the Ryzen 7 9800X3D or the Ryzen 9 9950X3D?

Since you're using the setup for both gaming and productivity tasks, the Ryzen 9 9950X3D is the way to go. It's more efficient for multitasking and will serve you better in the long run.

Great, I'll definitely look into it more! Thanks!

If your main focus is gaming, the Ryzen 7 9800X3D might be just fine, particularly since at 4K resolution there's only about a 1-2% difference in performance. But if you're open to spending a bit more, consider the RTX 5080 instead for a potential upgrade!

I appreciate the advice! I’ll keep that in mind.

The 9950X3D shines in multitasking, but don't underestimate the 9800X3D—it's still a solid choice! If the price isn't a big deal for you, lean towards the 9950, but the 9800X3D won't leave you wanting for performance in most cases.
