Hey everyone! I've been exploring Linux for about 6 months now. I started with Ubuntu 21.04, which was pretty decent initially, but it started to slow down significantly. Then I tried Linux Mint, but I ran into driver issues. I've checked out some gaming-oriented distros, but they seem outdated. I've thrown Pop!_OS, Zorin OS, and Arch out of the running for various reasons.
Here are my specs:
- GPU: Palit RTX 2060 Super 8GB
- CPU: Intel i7 11700K
- RAM: 16GB
- Storage: 1TB NVMe (running Windows 11) and 500GB SSD
- Motherboard: Gigabyte Z590 UD AC
I'm hoping to find a distro that can run League of Legends (I'm a fan of ARAM) and also supports my Canon Pixma MG3650S printer since I rely on that a lot. Any suggestions?

Debian-based distributions are generally solid for servers but can be outdated for desktops. They often don’t support Nvidia GPUs well either. I’d suggest trying out Fedora or getting curious about Arch Linux. Just be aware that Riot Games doesn’t support Linux due to their kernel requirements, so running League of Legends might not be feasible.
You might want to consider Bazzite. It’s relatively new but has been getting good reviews for gaming on mid-range hardware. Just be sure to check compatibility with your GPU and printer.
I'd recommend sticking with Linux Mint. In theory, there shouldn't be any driver issues with your hardware since it's not that old, including the printer. Have you tried searching for solutions to the driver issues you encountered? If Mint struggles with your printer, chances are another distro will too.
I didn't have a printer when I tried Mint, just a laptop. Maybe that was part of my problem.
