Hey everyone! I'm looking for some advice on upgrading my setup for 240Hz 1440p gaming. Currently, I'm running an AM4 system with a B550M Steel Legend motherboard, Ryzen 7 5700X, 32GB of 3200MHz RAM, and an RX 6750 XT. I mainly play FPS games, with CS2 being my primary focus along with some Battlefield 6. I recently got a new 1440p 240Hz monitor, and I really want to ensure I have stable 1% lows and consistent fps in CS2. Right now, I'm getting about 180 to 250 fps on mid settings at 1920x1440p, but I want it to feel super smooth. I'm considering spending around 700 euros to either get an RX 9070 XT or an RTX 5070 and think about upgrading to an AM5 motherboard later, which might cost me around 900 euros. What do you all think would be the best upgrade?

I'd recommend holding off on upgrading your GPU and focus on getting a better CPU. The games you're playing are pretty CPU-bound, meaning your processor is more likely the bottleneck right now. Upgrading your RX 6750 XT won't do much if your CPU can't keep up. So, look for a solid AM4 or AM5 CPU instead, and you'll probably see a noticeable improvement.
Yeah, CPU benchmarks and reviews can help you figure out which games rely more on the CPU.

How can I tell if a game is more CPU or GPU heavy? Any tips?
