I'm looking to roll out the new Windows Remote Desktop app to a few shared computers used by 10 people for connecting to Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD). Since this app is only available through the Microsoft Store, it's a bit tricky to install without a domain or Intune management. My current plan is to copy the executable file onto the Public Desktop folder of each computer and send a quick message to everyone. This way, I can easily handle the feedback from the few who actually read my short emails. Does anyone have other suggestions?

You can actually grab the appx installer from apps.microsoft.com. That might simplify the process for you!
Doesn't the app get installed automatically with Windows? Seems like that would make things easier.
No, it definitely doesn't install with the OS. You have to do it separately.
You might want to consider placing the appx package in a shared location. Then, set up a scheduled task that runs the add-appxpackage command at login for everyone to automatically install it when they log in.
Just a heads up, the Windows Store app doesn't actually have an executable file. You should install it on one machine and then check the shortcut to see where it points for accessing the app.

Not really, they wouldn't include a tool that's only for remote desktop as part of the OS installation. Plus, who even thinks 'Windows App' is a good name?
