Best Ways to Transfer Photos from iPhone to Windows PC

I'm really struggling to upload photos from my iPhone to my Windows PC. I've tried a ton of stuff already, like using the Windows Photo app, but it only gets through about 5,000 photos before it just stops. Plus, I can't seem to upload them directly to a drive from there. When I connect my phone and try to copy photos from the Apple folder that shows up, it only copies about half of them for some reason—even though there's more than enough space on my PC. It feels like it's 2025 and we still don't have a simple solution for this! Any suggestions for apps or methods? I'm getting really frustrated and my storage is overflowing.

Have you tried connecting your iPhone with its cable? You can allow access and check out the DCIM folder, which should have all your photos. Just copy and paste from there to your PC.

When I try that, it only copies about half the photos. The folders don't seem to be complete for some reason.

I'm with you on Localsend. It’s my go-to app for transferring photos too!

If you're transferring that many photos, I'd recommend doing it in smaller chunks. It tends to run smoother and prevents a lot of issues that come with large transfers like that.

Yeah, but how do you do that effectively?

I use Localsend for this! You install the app on your PC and your phone, and it works kinda like AirDrop. Just a heads-up—moving 30,000 photos will be quite a task and might take a while. I usually do smaller batches every few weeks, which is much easier!

Thanks for the tip! But I really need to move all 30k photos at once. I'll give it a shot though!
