Best WiFi Solutions for RV Living in a Backyard

Hey everyone! I recently moved into an RV parked in a backyard and I'm trying to figure out the best way to get decent WiFi. The house is about 250 feet away, and I've been using a WiFi booster my brother-in-law gave me, but it's really not cutting it—I'm pretty sure it's a low-end model. Should I look into better boosters, contact the internet provider for a setup, or would getting something like Starlink be a better option? I'm not traveling for now, so I'm parked here for the foreseeable future.

About contacting your ISP, it’s probably not worth it. They usually require a proper home address for billing. So unless you have a specific plan with them for RVs, I wouldn’t expect them to help out. I'd lean towards getting Starlink if you want a reliable setup.

That's what I'm considering too! It seems reasonably priced and could solve my gaming issues since the current setup is really poor.

If you're close enough, you might want to run a Cat 6 Ethernet cable from the house. It’s a solid option within that distance! If cable running isn't feasible, a point-to-point wireless solution could work well, just as others mentioned.

Definitely easier to set up a point-to-point than running cables, but if you can do fiber, that's ideal!

Cat 5 is also fine if you're looking to save some cash!

If you have decent cellular coverage, a router from a cellular company could be a good alternative, too! Just keep in mind how you would connect that inside the camper.

Would that run through the Ethernet in the camper? I'm just trying to figure out if I should test connectivity first with my current setup or contact my provider.

If there's a clear line of sight to the house, consider getting a wireless bridge. You could use two LiteBeam products: one connects to the router in the house, and the other would be on the RV aiming back at it. A little setup and you'll have good connectivity inside your RV.

And don't forget you’ll need an access point inside the RV to manage your connections.

Thanks for the tip! I just moved in and have never set up anything like this, but it sounds promising.
