I've been dealing with a frustrating issue on my old TV. When anything bright is displayed, there are these noticeable bright lines that fade in, but when the screen is dark, it looks just fine. I've tried using those pixel-fixing videos, but they didn't help as the bright lines stuck around. I'd love to know if there's a temporary fix or if this is something that means my TV is done for. Thanks for any advice!

It sounds like you might be looking at physical damage, possibly around the panel's contacts. Those pixel fixer videos usually won't help with this kind of issue, especially since it sounds like the lines are only visible on brighter screens. When it's dark, you're just not seeing the problem—it might be toast.
Ah damn, is it worth getting repaired?
