I'm considering an upgrade to my GPU because I want to game at 1440p with solid performance. I'm debating between getting a 240Hz monitor or sticking with a 165Hz one. I play a lot of RPGs and FPS games, and I'm wondering if my setup with a 5070 and i7-1400f can handle this resolution and refresh rate well.

I think it's worth trying. The 5070 should hold up well for 1440p gaming—particularly if you're using DLSS. Just keep in mind that you might need to adjust settings for specific titles.
It really depends on your game settings, but generally, a 240Hz monitor is a great match for the 5070 and i7-1400f. You should get some solid frame rates in most games without too much hassle!
Honestly, with the 5070, I wouldn't even go for a 1440p monitor. It's pretty capable, but you might want to think about whether you’d really get the performance you want.
The 5070 is definitely a strong card for 1440p, especially with DLSS. I’d say it can do 144Hz well!
The games you play matter a lot. I'm running a 7800x3d with a 3080 for 1440p 240Hz. Some games hit 240fps easily with boosted settings, while others struggle even with lowered graphics. Still, I usually stay around 144fps, which works for me since I prioritize frame rate over visuals. The 5070 should be better than a 3080, especially with DLSS available!
Thanks for the insight!
