Can a delegate user see private items in another user’s mailbox?

I'm having an issue where a delegate user has full access to an owner's mailbox and has delegate permissions for the owner's calendar. However, even though the calendar settings in Outlook are set to disallow the delegate from seeing private items, they can still view them. Is there a workaround to prevent this?

It sounds like the problem might be that the delegate still has full mailbox access. That's a different permission level than just delegate access. When a user has full access to a mailbox, they can bypass delegate permissions, including visibility for private items. You'll want to double-check that they only have the necessary delegate access.

Thanks for the tip! I removed the full access permissions, and now the private items are hidden. But now, the delegate can’t expand the mailbox in Outlook. Got any ideas on that?
