Can a factory reset fix a slow and stuttering PC?

I've noticed that my PC has been extremely slow lately, causing frustrating stuttering and freezing issues. No matter what I do, it seems stuck in this state. I'm considering whether a factory reset could help resolve these problems, as it used to work just fine. I'm not very proficient with software, so I'm looking for guidance. Additionally, I'm also facing problems with screen tearing and freezing, despite having a healthy GPU and up-to-date drivers. Here are my specs: Intel i5 8th gen, 16GB RAM DDR4, Radeon 520, and I'm running Windows 11. Any advice would be much appreciated!

It's great that you’re thinking about a reset, but think about whether the problem is hardware or software first. If it’s just a software glitch, a reset might help. But if something’s wrong with the hardware, that’s a different story.

Honestly, if your PC used to run fine and now it's a mess, something changed. It's worth figuring that out before you wipe everything. Maybe something simple like a bad update?

Good point! Troubleshooting first could save you a lot of hassle later.

A factory reset might help with the stuttering if it's a software issue, but it probably won't resolve the screen tearing. You should double-check your refresh rates and ensure your drivers are correct since those could be causing separate problems.

Yeah, definitely check those settings first! You don’t want to reset if it’s just a driver issue.
