I've got a basic grasp of HTML and CSS, but I find coding, especially CSS, to be pretty frustrating. I'm considering using AI to speed things up so I can focus more on the functionality of my apps and projects. What do you think about this approach? Is it a good idea, or should I just stick to coding everything manually? Of course, I plan to review the AI-generated code to ensure it makes sense.

You can definitely use AI to assist, but it’s crucial to learn the basics well first. You don’t need to be an expert, just have enough understanding to tweak things when needed. Otherwise, you might run into issues later on.

When I first started freelancing, I relied heavily on AI for HTML and CSS. It was decent for HTML, but it couldn't quite capture the look of what I wanted, so I'd end up spending a lot of time fixing the output anyway. You're likely still going to be doing a lot of manual adjustments no matter what.

Using tools like Lovable for brainstorming and prototyping can be helpful. Just remember that while it's great for coming up with initial ideas, you still need to have strong skills in HTML and CSS to fine-tune everything and make it work for your final product.

I've tried using AI for CSS, but it often misses the cascading aspect. If I didn't manually go through and clean it up, I'd end up with a jumbled mess instead of a clean stylesheet. It could lead to a ton of unnecessary code that looks inconsistent.

CSS can be tricky with all the nuances involved. While AI can offer some help, I think having a solid understanding of how to direct the AI is key. You’ll want to know how to tell it what you want, or else it may not meet your expectations.
