I'm considering using Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) as a replacement for our current Citrix VDI setup. I'm looking to create a standard image that can scale up to accommodate as many clients as needed and also scale down when demand decreases, so we aren't paying for unused resources. Is this feasible with AVD?

There's a new feature in preview called service host provisioning for AVD. It sounds promising because it could streamline the process without needing to set up dedicated host servers, giving you more of a PaaS/SaaS experience. Really exciting if you're looking for something less hands-on!
Yeah, Azure Virtual Desktop could be a suitable replacement for Citrix. It offers scalability, meaning you can easily add more virtual machines during peak times and shut them down when they're not needed. This helps control costs since you only pay for what you use.
