I'm pretty new to Linux and recently came across some really cool setups on TikTok featuring Arch Linux and Hyprland. I currently use an M1 MacBook Pro and am considering switching to Linux. I'm really interested in creating a similar aesthetic, but I have a question: do I need to stick with Arch Linux to achieve these looks, or can I do it on other distros? I've heard that Arch can be tricky to set up and maintain, and I'm hoping there's a simpler option.

If you're looking for a simple setup, check out CachyOS. It's designed to have Hyprland up and running quickly with decent defaults. Just remember, Hyprland is one of many tiling window managers out there, so you might want to explore others too—there’s some great stuff like the cosmic desktop environment that's in beta right now and it works really well!
Thanks for the tips! I'm leaning towards starting with Arch or one of its derivatives. I didn’t realize there were different environments to research. I’ll look into that to figure out what's best for me!
You don't have to limit yourself to Arch to get that aesthetic! You can definitely achieve similar setups on other distributions. For example, EndeavourOS is an easier way to install Arch if you're curious about trying that route later on. But honestly, what matters most is your configuration of Hyprland, which you can set up on various distros. It's all about personal preference!
Honestly, unless you’ve memorized all the key bindings, you might find it easier to just use a full Desktop Environment like KDE Plasma or Cinnamon instead of going all-in with Hyprland. It's a tiling window manager, so it has a really different approach to managing windows. You might miss the quick window buttons like close or minimize since Hyprland mainly uses keybindings.

That sounds interesting! I’ve never heard of CachyOS before but I’ll definitely give it a shot.
