I forgot the passcode to my old iPad, and it has some precious baby photos of my daughter that I really don't want to lose. Resetting the device is not an option for me. Is there anyone out there who has the skills to retrieve the data without doing a factory reset? I would hate to just accept defeat and lose those memories. Is there hope?

Honestly, the only safe way to handle this is to keep trying to remember your passcode until the iPad locks you out completely. I really sympathize with your situation, but if it gets to that point, erasing is going to be your only choice. It’s a hard lesson learned about backups, unfortunately.
Unfortunately, bypassing the iPad's passcode isn't really possible without resetting. Apple has set up robust protections to keep your data safe, which is great in terms of security but a nightmare if you forget your passcode. If you really valued those photos, it's surprising they weren't backed up in some way.
I get why you're anxious, but anyone claiming they can bypass that security is most likely trying to scam you. Apple’s measures are there for a reason, and they’re tough to crack. There's no method to retrieve your photos without the passcode or a reset.
It's a tough break, but if you forget an iPad password, you really can’t get back in without erasing the device. Once it’s disabled, there’s just no way to recover those memories. Just keep trying to remember if you can!
Have you thought about just guessing the passcode? You might want to try that before it locks you out, but again, that’s the only option unless you’re willing to accept a reset.

I understand that now, but I was in a tough financial spot back then. I really wish I had backed them up.
