I have a motherboard that lacks support for ARGB. Is it safe to connect the ARGB fans' 4-pin power connector to the CHA_FAN ports? I know not to plug ARGB into the RGB port, but I'm wondering about the fan connections specifically.

Yes, you can connect the fan part of the ARGB fans to the CHA_FAN ports without any issues. However, be careful with the ARGB connector itself; since your motherboard doesn't support it, that one shouldn't be connected.
Just to clarify, ARGB fans usually have two connectors: one for the fan motor and another for the ARGB lights. The fan motor connector will work fine with the CHA_FAN, but you won't be able to control the ARGB without a compatible header. You might want to consider getting an ARGB controller if you want to manage the lighting effects.
Fans are generally universal, so connecting to the CHA_FAN header is okay. Just remember, the CHA_FAN header is labeled as a chassis fan for identification and speed control in your BIOS or software. I wouldn’t recommend daisy chaining multiple fans directly off the motherboard, though. It could potentially overload the header and lead to some serious issues!
Daisy chaining can be okay if you check the current ratings first. Most fans draw under 0.3A, and most headers support 1A or more. Just tally up the amps for all connected fans and keep it below the limit to avoid problems. If in doubt, consider using a fan hub, as it will draw power directly from the PSU and use the header just for speed control.
