I've recently got a Samsung Galaxy S7, but the screen is defective, so I can't see anything or interact with it. I want to connect it to my laptop temporarily until I can replace the screen. Is there any way to display my phone's screen on my laptop without needing to do anything on the phone first?

Unfortunately, you can't connect your phone to your laptop without being able to see or interact with the screen. Most methods require you to install software or authorize connections on the phone, which is impossible with a broken display.
I get where you're coming from. Some people have managed to display their phone screens on a laptop without having the screen functional, but usually, they have some command line skills or special software installed beforehand. Since you're locked out of your phone, though, it's a challenge.
It's really tricky since the phone needs to grant permission to connect. Even if you manage to plug it into a computer, it might just charge unless you can access the phone. Have you considered plugging it into a TV? That could give you a visual output, but you'd still need to press a button to confirm the connection.
