Can I Connect Two Monitors to My Laptop with Different Ports?

I'm trying to figure out how to connect a second monitor to my laptop, which only has HDMI output. Currently, I have a monitor hooked up via HDMI, but it doesn't support DisplayPort. Is there a way to run a second monitor through the VGA port on the existing monitor? If that's not feasible, what kind of adapter or component would I need to use to have two independent monitors instead of mirroring?

You're correct that those ports are inputs, but you can use a USB to VGA adapter since your monitor has a VGA port. I bought one recently for a similar setup, and it worked out well for connecting a second monitor.

Thanks for the suggestion! I'll check out the VGA adapter too.

Unfortunately, the ports on your monitor are meant for input, not output. If your laptop only has one HDMI output, the best way to connect another monitor is to get a USB to HDMI adapter. Just a heads up, these adapters aren't great for gaming but should work fine for regular desktop tasks.

Thanks for the tip! I'll definitely look for that adapter. I checked the USB-C port on my laptop too, but it won't support video output.
