I have a bunch of old CD games from my childhood that I'd love to share with my kids, but it seems like most of them don't work because they're too outdated. I was wondering if it's possible to install an old version of Windows to make those games playable again. If so, how would I go about doing that?

Just keep in mind, if you're trying to install something like Windows 98 or XP on newer hardware, it might not go smoothly since they won’t recognize the newer components. You might want to check platforms like GOG or Steam too; they’ve updated a lot of those classic games for modern systems. I've been revisiting the Red Alert games myself!
If you want to run some of those classic games, consider picking up an older computer, like a Core 2 Duo or Quad from Dell, HP, or Lenovo. You can install Windows XP on it, which should allow you to run both Windows 98 and XP games without much hassle.
Absolutely, you can install old versions of Windows using a virtual machine. This way, you recreate the environment those games were designed for without messing with your current system.
I was looking into showing my son Jump Start and Reader Rabbit. Are those games available to play online anywhere?
