I'm heading to the US next week and want to purchase an iPhone 17 Pro Max while I'm in either New York City or Washington, D.C. I plan to order it for pick-up, but I've hit a snag: I don't have a US phone number, which is required for the order. Has anyone figured out how to get around this? I'm considering grabbing a prepaid SIM card at the airport for a local number, or possibly just asking at the Apple Store if they can help reserve one for me when it's back in stock.

Just so you know, since the iPhone 14, all US iPhones use eSIM only. If you’re okay with that, then the prepaid SIM route could work. Just keep in mind that if you don’t need to use a physical SIM, eSIM can actually be pretty convenient! Good luck!
Have you thought about preordering an unlocked iPhone directly from the Apple Store? That way, the phone number requirement wouldn’t be an issue.
That’s exactly what I want to do, but when I try to place the order, I still need to provide a US phone number. It won’t let me use my Danish number, and I’m hoping to find a workaround.

Thanks for the info! I'm familiar with eSIM from Denmark, and I prefer it since I won't use a physical SIM slot anyway. I just need a US number for Apple's ordering process.
