Hey everyone! I'm curious if it's actually possible to game on Ubuntu. I tried to install Steam, but it didn't execute properly using the apt install method. Am I missing something important? Any tips would be greatly appreciated!

It should work for you, but can you let us know how you attempted the installation? That might help in troubleshooting.
Absolutely, you can game on Ubuntu! A simple way to get Steam working is to download the .deb file directly from the Steam website and run it from there.
Another option is to use the .deb file you can find on the Steam Website or the flatpak from Flathub (make sure flatpak is installed). There's also a snap available in the Ubuntu Software Center, but some users have faced issues with that version.
You can also try installing Steam using this command in the terminal: `sudo apt install steam-installer`. It should set you up nicely!
Gaming on Ubuntu is definitely achievable. I set up Steam using flatpak, and while I had to tweak a few settings, it worked fine. However, I ended up switching to Pop!OS since I was having crashes with Elden Ring, but that's worth considering if you're looking for a smoother experience.
I agree, Pop!OS has some great optimizations for gaming! If you're having issues, it might just be your current setup.
