I received this laptop from a family member and I'm trying to reset it and set it up under my own account, but I'm running into some issues. I have a USB for reinstalling Windows, but my main concern is whether I'll be able to reactivate Windows once I remove the old account and create a new one. For context, the laptop has an Intel N200 chip, 4GB of RAM, and is currently running version 23H2 with build number 22631.5039.

If you're looking for alternatives, you might consider Windows 10, even though it's no longer officially supported. But honestly, a user-friendly Linux distro could be a good fit, especially if you're not super techy, and they might run smoother than Windows 11 on that hardware.
Just a heads up, the laptop is going to my wife, who isn't comfortable with Linux at all. Since it already runs Windows 11 (not perfectly, but good enough for basic use), I think it'll work out as long as I can get it activated again.
The good news is that the Windows license is usually tied to the hardware, so as long as you reinstall Windows and log into a Microsoft account, it should activate without issues. Just make sure your family member removes the laptop from their Microsoft account in a web browser first. Also, keep in mind that Windows 11 may not perform very well with that lower-end CPU and just 4GB of RAM.
