I accidentally deleted my Instagram account, and now that the 30-day recovery period has passed (it's been 18 days since), I'm wondering if there's anything I can do to recover it. Is there a way to contact Instagram's support? Even if the account is gone for good, can I retrieve the media and messages I sent through DMs? I'm really upset about losing all the memories and connections from years gone by.

You could try reaching out to Instagram's support, but honestly, they don’t make it easy. If you use another Meta app, go to the Account Centre and see if there's a way to contact them there. By the way, I'm curious how you accidentally deleted your account in the first place since it's a multi-step process.
Unfortunately, it looks like there's nothing you can do at this point. Once that grace period ends, Instagram permanently deletes the account and all the data tied to it. If those memories were really important, it might've been wise to back them up beforehand.
Yeah, Meta's support is notoriously poor. They pretty much delete everything and move on. As for your DMs, they’re gone too unless you somehow saved them before the account deletion. Consider taking screenshots of important conversations next time.
Seems a bit drastic to be devastated over an Instagram account. Maybe focus on real-life connections instead?

I get your point, but it’s not just about the account. It’s about all those years of messages and photos that really document friendships and important moments. That’s what’s truly upsetting.
