Can I Run Linux from a USB and Switch to Windows Easily?

I've successfully installed Windows from a USB before, but I'm curious if I can also run Linux off a USB drive and switch back to Windows whenever I want. If that's possible, will the storage be limited to the USB, or will I still be able to access my other drives? Also, if I can run Linux this way, which distribution is best suited for gaming on a GTX 1070?

Yes, you can definitely run Linux from a USB stick, but be aware that it will be slower compared to running it from an internal drive. Additionally, USB drives typically wear out faster since they aren’t designed for regular OS usage. If you're using an external SATA drive instead, you might have better longevity, but speed will still be an issue.

So, can I have Linux installed on my SSD and Windows on the same SSD? Would I be able to switch back and forth without losing my files?
