I'm trying to get the latest version of Office 365 on my Fedora system. I've heard some things about using Wine, Crossover, or WinBoat, but I've never tried any of them myself. Will Office 365 function on any of these options?

Doesn't Office 365 also have a web version? Have you thought about just using that instead? Seems like an easier solution!

Honestly, you might want to ditch Microsoft Office altogether! It has a reputation for being a bit of a privacy invasion. Plus, with features like Copilot, it’s even more nosey about your information.

If you really need Microsoft Office, I’d say you're pretty much stuck with Windows. When I switched away, it wasn't just because I disliked Windows, but also the software and the whole proprietary environment.

Yes, WinBoat acts as a virtual machine, so it should work for running Office 365 without a hitch.

Wine might be able to run some older Office versions, but I don’t think it’ll support Office 365 itself. Crossover is a bit of a mystery to me since I’ve never tried it—just seemed a bit pricey. As for WinBoat, if you have enough resources, you could set up a virtual machine with Windows 11 to run Office 365. Just aim for at least 16GB of RAM, a quad-core CPU at a decent speed, and around 40GB of free disk space.
