Is it safe to store two external hard drives stacked on top of each other when they're not in use, especially if they're in their respective enclosures?

While it's usually safe, just make sure they’re stable. You wouldn't want one to slide off and get damaged!

You know what? If you really want to be safe, just weld them together! Kidding aside, be careful when storing them.

I’m curious why you thought it might not be okay? They're just inert objects—think of it like stacking rocks; nothing's going to happen unless they topple over.

Yes, stacking external hard drives is generally fine as long as they remain in their enclosures for protection. Just keep an eye on them to prevent any accidental falls.
