I'm planning a no-contact vacation with my iPhone 12 Pro Max, and I really want to avoid incoming calls and texts while I'm away. I don't want to just use 'Do Not Disturb' because that still shows me unread messages, and I know I'll be tempted to check them. Instead, I want a way to completely block calls and texts but still have internet access for browsing Pinterest and reading articles. The campground I'm heading to doesn't offer WiFi, so I'll rely on my phone's signal. Is there a way to achieve this, or is it just wishful thinking?

Put your phone's SIM card in an old device if you have one. Then you can keep your current phone on Airplane mode but still use it for internet access via a hotspot. Plus, you won't see missed calls or messages on your main phone if it's offline!
Perfect solution if you want to ensure you don’t see anything until you're back!
If you're okay with using Airplane mode, you could keep your phone in that mode while turning on WiFi manually. Just make sure your notifications are all turned off. That way, you’ll be off the grid while still having internet access when you want it!
Definitely! That's a solid option if you just want internet without the distractions.
But remember, without a cellular signal, incoming messages will keep piling up. Just a heads up!
You might be able to set up something with Focus mode. You can turn on Do Not Disturb and then go to your settings to disable notification badges for your messaging apps. That way, you won’t see any alerts even if someone texts or calls, helping you to resist the urge to check.
Yeah, Focus mode is the way to go! Just remember to switch off badge notifications as well.
Absolutely! That will help you enjoy your vacation without distractions.
That's a great idea! Just disable iMessage too, that way all texts come through normally later.
