I'm trying to figure out if it's possible to update Visual C++ Redistributable packages using Windows Update or WSUS, but I'm not finding clear information on this. I've seen some posts indicating that the packages may not show up for updating through these channels. For example, I came across a developer who found the 2012 version in their developer tools, but most of the resources I found look similar to mine, lacking any options for VCRedist. Can anyone confirm whether or not these updates are available through Windows Update or WSUS? If I'm mistaken, I'd appreciate any guidance on how to manage VCRedist updates through WSUS! Thanks in advance!

You might want to consider adding third-party updates to your patch management system. If you're using WSUS with SCCM or Intune, you can subscribe to a catalog of applications and updates from a service like patchmypc.com. If you're using a different setup, it might be best to talk to your vendor about options. Also, if you're still on WSUS, it could be wise to look into upgrading your infrastructure to better manage updates.
We do have tools like PDQ and Tanium, but I thought it might be easier to handle these updates directly through Windows Update.
Yeah, WSUS is officially deprecated, so transitioning to a newer solution is worth considering. It'll still be around for a bit, but it's good practice to plan a move away from it.
