I'm building a new PC and accidentally bought a reverse fan. Right now, my setup will have three intake fans at the front and one exhaust fan at the back, all of them are 120mm. I'm wondering if I can flip the reverse fan to use it as an intake alongside the other two regular intake fans at the front, while placing a regular fan at the rear. Would having one fan spinning clockwise (the flipped reverse fan) while the other two spin counterclockwise affect airflow negatively? I know I could just use the reverse fan as an exhaust in the back, but I want to understand what would happen if I mixed the fan directions for intake.

You can definitely flip that reverse fan! The main thing about reverse fans is just the aesthetics, so as long as you’re okay with the ‘ugly’ side showing, everything will work fine.
No worries! The reverse fan will work just fine if you flip it for intake. They don’t have any special mechanics that would make them perform differently; it’s mostly just about looks.

Thanks for clarifying that! I was worried about the spinning direction being an issue.
