I'm considering using a single PCIe 8-pin cable (a pigtail) from my 650W 80+ Bronze power supply with a 12VHPWR adapter for my RTX 5070. However, I'm hesitant if this is safe or if I should opt for two separate cables instead. The RTX 5070 requires 250W, and I've come across some information suggesting that these pigtail connectors can support a load of up to 300W. I just want to make sure that I won't run into any issues with my GPU or any other parts of my system in the long run. Any advice?

You should be fine using that single pigtail for your RTX 5070. It doesn’t draw a lot of power, and I’ve been using a similar setup with my 5700XT for years without any issues. Just ensure your power supply is from a reputable brand, and you should be good to go!
While it might work short term, the standard for PCIe 8-pin power is 150 watts. I’d advise splitting the load and using two separate cables if your PSU has them, just to be on the safe side for consistent performance.
Unfortunately, my PSU only has one cable with two connectors. Looks like I'll have to cross my fingers!

Thanks for the reassurance! My PSU is from MSI, so I hope it holds up and doesn't damage my new GPU!
