My Computer Powers Off After a Second – What Could Be the Issue?

Hey everyone! I've been having a frustrating issue with my computer. Every time I hit the power button, it starts up but then shuts down after about a second. It does seem like it's still providing power to the USB ports, though. I've found that I need to unplug the power supply, then try starting it again after everything goes black. Sometimes it takes several attempts before it finally turns on. Any ideas on what might be causing this?

It sounds like your power supply unit (PSU) might be the culprit here. If it's a cheap model, it might not handle the load well. I recommend looking into getting a second-hand PSU; you can often find good ones for around 30-40, which might be a better investment than the one you have now.

That’s what I was thinking too, but money is a bit tight for me right now. I just want to make sure it’s definitely the PSU before I spend any cash.
