Can I Use a Windows Medical App on Linux Without a VM?

Hey everyone! I'm thinking about making the switch to Linux Mint, but I have a big concern. My son has a medical condition and relies on a specific device that connects to a Windows app on our laptop for data transfer. The app isn't available for Linux, and the provider doesn't support it either. I really want to avoid going through the hassle of running Windows in a virtual machine, but I'm wondering if there are any alternatives. Is there a way to run a Windows-based app on Linux without using a VM? Also, where can I find feedback about using medical apps in the Linux community? Any advice would be appreciated!

You might want to try using Wine; it can run Windows applications on Linux. Just keep in mind that connecting your device to the Wine application can be a bit tricky, so it’s worth experimenting with it before fully committing to the switch.

Thanks for the tip! I'm getting ready for this transition, and I've never used Linux before, so every suggestion helps.

If Wine doesn't work for your app, using a VM could be a good fallback. Just make sure your VM software supports USB passthrough for the device.
