Hey everyone! I've been rocking my first PC build for about four years now, and I'm starting to notice some lag in newer games like Helldivers 2 and Resident Evil 2 Remake. I think it's time for an upgrade, but I'm feeling pretty lost among all the options out there.
I'm not in a massive hurry since I primarily play indie and AA titles, but I'm looking to keep up with modern games like the Silent Hill 2 remake, Metal Gear Solid Delta, and Oblivion Remastered. My budget is around $500, but I'd prefer to spend less if I can; definitely no more than $600.
For reference, here are my PC specs:
- CPU: Ryzen 5 5600X
- Motherboard: MSI B550-A PRO ATX AM4
- GPU: RTX 2060 6GB
- RAM: 32GB
- PSU: Corsair RM750 750 W 80+
Any advice on what graphics card I should look into would be super helpful!

If you're more on the Nvidia side, consider waiting for the upcoming 50 series Super lineup. A potential 5060 12GB variant could be the best budget card around, if it comes out at a good price.
Honestly, you only need to upgrade your GPU for the games you're looking to play. I'd suggest going for the RX 9060 XT 16GB; it offers great performance, especially under $400, and should give you a noticeable upgrade over your current card.
The RX 9060 XT 16GB is indeed a solid choice for under $400—perfect for 1080p gaming, and it'll still perform decently at 1440p. Other options in your budget won't be as impactful unless you find a good deal on something like the RX 9070 at around $600.

Yeah, I've been hearing a lot about the 9060 XT too! It seems like the go-to option, especially since I'm also gaming mostly at 1080p.
