Can I use an HDMI splitter to connect a 1440p monitor and a 1080p TV?

I have a setup where I want to connect my PC's HDMI output to both a native 1440p monitor and a native 1080p TV. Is there any device out there that can effectively handle this split without losing quality or experiencing lag?

Splitting the signal isn't as simple as it seems. You're looking for a scaler, which converts the 1440p signal to 1080p. Expect to pay more than $30 for a good device since they need real-time processing. I found some options in the $30-40 range online, but again, they might not work perfectly due to the differences in signal types.

I understand what you're saying. I’ve seen plenty of scalers for 4K to 1080p, but 1440p seems to be less common. It's frustrating because you’d think there would be more options out there.

Honestly, it might be better to connect the monitor and TV directly to your PC if possible. That way, you won't have to deal with any complicated signal processing.
