Hey everyone! I have a Lenovo ThinkCentre 510A 15ICB office PC that currently has a slow HDD. I'm looking to upgrade to an M.2 SSD for better gaming performance. I purchased a TEAMGROUP MS30 512GB SSD that uses SATA3. However, I noticed that the M.2 slot on my motherboard supports PCIe, specifically PCIe 3.0 x2 and x4. I'm curious if my SATA SSD will fit and work in this slot, or if I need to find a different kind of SSD. Any advice?

Nope, if your M.2 slot only supports NVMe, you're out of luck with a SATA SSD. Make sure to get a drive that uses PCIe, otherwise, it just won't function.
Straight up, SATA is different from NVMe. So no, you can't just plug in a SATA SSD into an NVMe slot.
From what I've gathered, your M.2 SATA SSD won't be compatible with that slot since it only supports NVMe. You'd need to get a PCIe NVMe SSD instead to make it work properly.
Just to clarify, if you want to upgrade, check out options for an NVMe drive. They're faster and will work with your motherboard's M.2 slot!
