I've got this older computer that sometimes decides to power on and sometimes doesn't. It has some programs I really like, so I'm wondering if I can remove its hard drive and use it in another computer as a secondary drive. Will that work?

You might not be able to boot from the old hard drive and run those programs directly, mainly because the hardware configurations are likely different. But if you just want to access the data, it should work without any issues. Just pop it in and see!

These days, you don't have to worry about dealing with master/slave drive settings. Just connect it up, and it should show up like any other drive. If you want to boot from it, you'll need to tweak the boot order in the BIOS, but it should be straightforward!

Yeah, OP probably means it won't be the main drive. Switching the boot priority is all it takes!
