I'm wondering if it's okay to install an SSD that has its own heatsink on a motherboard that already comes with a heatsink. For instance, I'm looking at the ASUS TUF GAMING X870 Plus, which has a heatsink for SSDs. If I want to add a Samsung 990 Pro, which also has a heatsink, is that fine? I'm asking because I found a budget-friendly SSD with a heatsink and I'm considering it.

You can't use both heatsinks at the same time. However, you can definitely use the SSD with its own heatsink and just skip using the one on the motherboard. Alternatively, you could keep the motherboard heatsink and not install the one from the SSD.

Could I remove the heatsink from either the SSD or the motherboard if I wanted to?
