I just switched from Windows 11 to Linux Mint a week ago, and I'm really enjoying it! I've heard some suggestions that KDE Plasma might be a better desktop environment compared to Cinnamon. Just a heads up, KDE used to be available as a main option in Mint, but that was discontinued after version 18.3. So, integration may not be as smooth as you'd hope.
Mint isn't the most compatible with KDE Plasma. The two desktop environments have quite different philosophies—Plasma embraces the latest technologies, while Cinnamon tends to be more traditional and stable. If you're keen on trying Plasma, you might have better luck with a distro like Fedora's Ultraline or openSUSE instead.
It's generally not recommended to go with Plasma on Mint, especially since you'd be getting an older version of it. There isn't strong support for KDE from the Mint community either.
If you're set on using KDE, consider Kubuntu! Just remember to remove the snap packages for a smoother experience. It'll give you a better KDE experience than Mint typically would.
