Can I Use My RTX 5060 Ti with PCIe 3.0 Without Issues?

Hey everyone! I just upgraded my computer with an MSI Ventus 2X RTX 5060 Ti (16GB) and I'm running into some compatibility issues. My setup includes a Ryzen 5 1600 CPU, MSI B350 PC MATE motherboard, and 16GB of HyperX Fury RAM. After installing the new GPU, I tried a dirty install, but I ended up with a black screen during the driver installation (version 576.2), and the same issue occurred after rebooting. I thought my power supply might be an issue, so I upgraded to an Antec CSK 650W, but the problems persisted. I've tried a clean driver install using DDU, tested hotfix drivers, updated the motherboard BIOS, and adjusted the PCIe settings, but it only seems to work on PCIe 2.0 instead of 3.0. Has anyone else faced this issue or managed to get it to work with PCIe 3.0?

It sounds like you've done a lot of troubleshooting! The RTX 5060 Ti should work with PCIe 3.0 just fine, which makes me think there’s something a bit odd in your setup. But honestly, even if it runs on PCIe 2.0, you might want to consider returning it. Running that GPU on 2.0 could significantly bottleneck performance—potentially 10% or more, especially compared to the 3.0 interface. I’d suggest looking into cards that fully utilize the x16 lanes like the RX 6700 XT or RTX 3060 Ti instead. Plus, upgrading your CPU to something like a Ryzen 5000 series could really help too!

Thanks for your input! I get what you’re saying about the performance hit. I might actually look into getting a new CPU soon to help with that. Right now, I just want to make sure that my current upgrades aren’t completely wasted.
