I'm currently working on a project that requires the use of TOP, but they want me to use Ubuntu. My main operating system is CachyOS, which is Arch-based, and my second drive already has Pop!_OS installed. Since I'm not looking to install Ubuntu anytime soon, I'm wondering if Pop!_OS is a reliable alternative for this project. What do you think?

I get where you're coming from! I've used Arch and Gentoo too, and I've found CachyOS to be much easier overall. If Pop!_OS is your current go-to, stick with it for this project. Just remember the discord's limitations with non-Ubuntu queries might be a hurdle.
You can definitely use whatever Linux distro you have. They probably suggested Ubuntu because it's beginner-friendly, but the main goal is to use Linux. Your existing system should work fine for the project!
You're overthinking it! They picked Ubuntu for its popularity and support as a baseline, but you're not locked into that. Just be aware that the tools might vary, so you might have to do a bit of research into package management, but otherwise, you should be good with Pop!_OS.
