I've realized it's been four years since I last changed the thermal paste on my CPU, and I'm finally getting around to doing it. The problem is, I can't find isopropyl alcohol anywhere in my town. The only thing I have is a bottle of Rakija that I usually use for disinfecting wounds. Do you think Rakija could work to remove the old thermal paste?

Using Rakija isn't a great idea since it can leave residue behind, and that's not what you want on your CPU. Isopropyl alcohol is preferred because it evaporates quickly and doesn’t leave anything behind. If you need something, you could try water to dampen a cloth and clean it that way, just make sure everything is dry before putting it back together.

Thanks for the tip!
