Persistent ‘No Signal’ Issue with New PC and DisplayPort Connection

I've been having an ongoing problem with my new PC, which I bought about a year ago, and I'm hoping to get some advice. It keeps giving me a 'No Signal' message on my BenQ XL2430T screen, although it seems to happen more frequently now. Initially, restarting my PC or updating drivers would resolve the issue temporarily, but now it seems to be permanent. The weird part is, when I connect using the motherboard's DisplayPort, everything works fine, so the screen and cable don't seem to be the issue. I recently took the PC to a shop under warranty, and they confirmed everything on the GPU checks out. However, I still encounter the same problems at home. The screen does detect something is connected because it occasionally displays 'No Signal' or 'Out of Range,' but I can't open my PC to check the internal connections due to warranty concerns. Any thoughts on why my $1200 machine is acting up?

Also, keep an eye out for cheap DP cables that might have pin issues. If pin 20 gets miswired, that can lead to either no signal or even permanent damage! It's best to get a proper DP cable to ensure the issue isn't with the cable itself before assuming it's the GPU or monitor that's faulty. Just make sure the cable is rated for the resolution and refresh rate you need, especially since you mentioned your monitor can handle 144Hz.

Thanks for the tip! I'll definitely look for a quality one. Any suggestions on good places to buy these cables?

It might not be the GPU if the DVI connection works fine on your old PC. Before jumping to conclusions, consider swapping out the DisplayPort cable. Sometimes, a faulty cable can cause these intermittent issues. It might be a good idea to get a high-quality DP cable that meets the necessary specifications for your monitor. I've seen cheaper cables cause all kinds of headaches, so investing in a reliable one could save you a lot of trouble in the long run.

That's a good point! Do you have any recommendations for specific brands or models for a DisplayPort cable that are reliable?
