I'm building a PC with an Intel i7-14700KF and pairing it with the ASUS TUF Gaming B760-PLUS WiFi motherboard. I noticed that ASUS mentions support for 14th-gen CPUs starting from BIOS version 1205. The issue is, I have no idea what BIOS version the motherboard comes with out of the box. Has anyone managed to run a 14th-gen CPU on this motherboard right after unpacking it, or should I be prepared to perform a BIOS update beforehand?

It should work out of the box, but why risk it? Go ahead and update the BIOS before you install the OS. Better safe than sorry!
It's a bit of a gamble. Just because someone upgraded their board doesn't mean yours comes with the same updated BIOS. It’s a smart move to pick a board that supports BIOS flashback so you can prep a USB boot just in case you need it.
I’ve got a B660G, and I had to update the BIOS to get my 14th gen CPU working. Honestly, it wasn’t a hassle at all—pretty straightforward process!

Keep in mind that BIOS flashback won't work post-update. You'll likely get a warning about that.
