About seven months ago, I fell victim to a scam on Discord and ended up with malware on my PC. Since then, I've taken a lot of steps to ensure my security, like reinstalling my operating system, wiping the drives, changing my passwords, enabling two-factor authentication, and even getting a new modem a couple of months later because my old one was outdated.
Now, I'm getting a new Xbox ROG Ally X, which runs on Windows, and I'm worried about whether any lingering malware might still infect this new device or my other devices at home. I'm especially concerned because I work from home. Is there a way to know if I've cleared everything, and how can I ensure my network is safe?

The chances of malware spreading through a home network to newer devices is pretty low. If you've wiped your drives and done a fresh OS install, you should be free of any malware. I'd recommend checking things like Chrome and file syncing applications just to be sure, but overall, you should be good!
Since you wiped your OS and installed everything fresh, there's virtually no chance that any malware is left on your system. Just make sure to keep your security software updated on your new devices.
Thanks for the reassurance! I’ll definitely keep my software up to date.
Malware usually doesn't spread through local networks in the way you're worrying about, especially if you've taken the necessary precautions already. Just keep an eye on device security, and you should be fine.

Yeah, it's very unlikely for malware to spread like that in a typical consumer setup. You're on the right track!
