Can My Motherboard Handle an Upgrade to an NVIDIA 3080?

I've got some used parts from a friend, including an NVIDIA 3080 and a 1050W power supply. Currently, my build consists of an AMD Ryzen 5 3600, a Gigabyte B450 Aorus Pro motherboard, 32GB of DDR4-3200 RAM, and an AMD Radeon RX 6600 XT with a 650W PSU. I want to know if my motherboard can handle the upgrade to the 3080 without any issues related to voltage or compatibility. Additionally, is it possible to use both the 3080 and my existing RX 6600 XT in the same setup for purposes like frame generation?

The 1050W PSU your friend gave you may not be the best quality. Look for an ATX 3.0-3.1 model rated 750-850W instead, as they'll typically perform better than some higher wattage ATX 2.3 models.

I have a Cooler Master MWE Gold 1050 V2 PSU from my friend, but I also have a DEEPCOOL PN1000M. Do you think the DEEPCOOL is a better option?

You likely won't need the 1050W PSU; a quality 650W should suffice for the 3080. If you're concerned about performance, consider upgrading the CPU too, but the 3080 is super powerful on its own. I wouldn’t stress too much about running dual GPUs since the 3080 is more than capable on its own.

You can upgrade, but expect possible CPU bottlenecks in some games. Just make sure to switch out the PSU cables when you install the new one!

Thanks for the tip! Since I'm gaming at 2K, I think the bottleneck concerns might not be a huge issue for me.
