Can My PC Handle 1440p Gaming, and Should I Upgrade My CPU?

I'm currently rocking an Intel i5 12400f, paired with a B760M motherboard, 16GB of DDR5 5600MHz RAM, and an Nvidia RTX 5060 GPU. My setup also includes a 1TB M.2 SSD for storage, a 600W 80 Plus Bronze power supply, and the stock cooler for the CPU, all housed in a Kolink Observatory MX Mesh ARGB case. I'm curious if this can handle games like Red Dead Redemption 2 and Cyberpunk 2077 at 1440p. I usually game at around 200+ fps in titles like Fortnite and CSGO, but I'm wondering if I should upgrade my CPU and if that means I also need to replace my CPU cooler. Any advice?

Your RTX 5060 is on the lower end for 1440p gaming, especially for graphics-intensive titles. In competitive games like CS2, the CPU might be the limiting factor, but considering how poorly that game runs in general, it's a tough call. I’d suggest looking into a GPU upgrade for better 1440p performance. If you're mostly playing competitively, the i5 14600K could be a decent upgrade too, but don't expect massive improvements, maybe around 30%.

You might get decent performance with DLSS on lower settings, even with the 5060. Just keep in mind the CPU cooler—you might want to think about upgrading it if you go for a high-performance CPU. The stock one may struggle under heavy loads.
