Hey everyone! I'm curious if it's possible for anyone to find out my IP address through Facebook messages or posts. Can random people do this, or is it something only Facebook employees or law enforcement can access?

Just a heads up, if you're on mobile, you might be changing your IP address daily. There are billions of IPs out there, so chances are, you don’t have anything to worry about! Just be cautious about clicking on unclear links.
Facebook can definitely see your IP address because it's their platform. However, they wouldn’t just give it out unless there’s a good reason behind it. And remember, if you’re using mobile, your IP address could change regularly, making it even harder to track down.
In most cases, a random person won’t be able to get your IP address just from your posts. Even if they have it, it doesn't give away much personal info, and if you’re on mobile data, your IP can change frequently, making it less of a concern.
Basically, only Facebook employees or law enforcement can access your IP address, and that's usually only with a court order. If someone is claiming they can just grab it, they’re probably lying unless they've tricked you into clicking a malicious link with an IP tracker in it.
So, law enforcement can only do that after getting a court order, right?
Yeah, with IPv6 becoming more common in mobile networks, the number of available addresses is massive. Just something to keep in mind!
