I just heard about the AMD Radeon AI PRO R9700 launching soon, which is based on the NAVI 48 architecture like the Radeon RX 9070 XT but comes with double the RAM at 32GB. It's priced at around $1000. I'm curious if this GPU is valid for gaming. Will it boost performance compared to the RX 9070 XT?

You can use it for gaming, but it might not outperform the RX 9070 XT. The AI Pro R9700 has a slightly lower Peak Pixel Fill-Rate, so if you're not hitting VRAM limits in your games now, you likely won't see a speed boost. The real advantage is the increased VRAM, which could help down the line if games continue to demand more resources.

Would having more VRAM make it more future-proof? Also, can it handle Path Tracing and FSR? Thanks for the info!

It’s definitely more future-proof with the extra VRAM, especially for newer titles that demand more memory!

This GPU is essentially a 9070XT but with double the memory. While it may have slightly lower clock speeds and could run warmer due to its design, you can still use regular gaming drivers on it. It's great if you're looking for a compact card; just know that it might not reach the overclocking performance of the RX 9070 XT.

Thanks for the insight! I think I'll stick with the RX 9070 XT for my next build, especially since I'm switching to Ubuntu and want something easier to troubleshoot.

Sounds like a solid plan! The RX 9070 XT will definitely give you a smoother experience without the hassle.

It should work for gaming, but don’t expect much performance increase unless it has a wider memory bus. The 5070 Ti is often less expensive and might be a better buy unless you really need that extra memory.

Yes, the AMD Radeon Pro models can absolutely be used for gaming. They include video output and all the necessary gaming features. However, keep in mind that its gaming performance may be about the same or slightly lower than the RX 9070 XT due to the same underlying architecture.
