Hey folks,
I'm currently using GoDaddy for my domain and I'm experiencing a lot of issues with bots attacking my phpBB forum. I've heard that setting up Cloudflare could help with this issue. The problem is, I've been trying to change my nameserver entries to Cloudflare's, but I keep hitting a wall. I spoke with several support agents at GoDaddy, and it felt like I was getting pushed to buy extra products instead of real solutions. One tech mentioned I can't edit the DNS settings because it's a shared resource. Is that really the case? Any advice would be much appreciated!

If your domain and website are both hosted with GoDaddy, consider moving them elsewhere. Sticking with them often leads to ongoing issues. It’s best to rip the bandaid off now and not look back!
Are you saying you can’t change the nameservers? You mentioned you can, so just double-check that you’re on the right settings. It should be there!
Honestly, you shouldn't trust much that GoDaddy tells you. Here's a plan: 1. Sign up for Cloudflare and add your domain. 2. Copy their nameservers to your GoDaddy account. 3. Ensure your DNS records match between GoDaddy and Cloudflare. 4. That’s it!
Cloudflare can handle your SSL too—just pick the configuration that suits your site best. I highly recommend separating your domain and hosting with different companies to avoid potential headaches in the future.
Right? I can't believe the lengths they go to! Just make sure you've got the basics set up and you'll be good!
I actually found the nameserver tab! That helped. I had to unproxy a couple of things, but it’s all working now!
