I've hit a wall and really need some assistance. I was using the Brave VPN browser on my computer, and while the internet was off, I couldn't reconnect. I couldn't turn off the VPN, so I ended up uninstalling it, which usually fixes these issues for me. But this time, even after uninstalling, I can't connect to my Wi-Fi at all. It just says 'can't connect.' My Wi-Fi is working fine since my brother's PC in the same area connects without problems. I've gone through tons of fixes online—checked all the automatic connections, LAN properties, made sure there are no proxy settings, updated and reset my network adapters, you name it. The only thing I can connect to is my phone's hotspot, but it's too slow to redownload the VPN to try turning it off. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Before trying too many fixes, let's see how comfortable you are with technical details. Do you know how to set a static IP? If you're okay with using the command line, I can guide you through checking your IP configuration and renewing it. Just let me know!
It sounds frustrating! First off, can you try some basic troubleshooting? Restart your router and PC, as that can sometimes clear up connection issues. If that doesn't help, you might want to try resetting your network settings. You can do this by typing 'cmd' in the search bar, right-clicking Command Prompt, and choosing 'Run as administrator.' Then type 'netsh winsock reset' and hit enter. After that, restart your computer. Let me know if that works!
I restarted both and tried resetting the winsock, but still no luck. This is so frustrating!
I'm really not into tech stuff, sorry! I just want my internet to work again!
