I recently installed SCCM on a machine that was already part of the domain. Prior to installation, the machine was showing that the CCM notification agent was disabled, and there were no software policies listed. After installation, I waited for about two hours and ran 'gpupdate /force' before rebooting. Now, the computer is stuck on the screen showing 'Please wait for Group policy client/ Applying computer settings' for over 30 minutes. Is this common behavior? If not, how can I resolve this issue?

Have you considered enabling debug logging for Group Policy? It can help you see what's causing the delay. Check whether it’s generating a log file to investigate further.
Try pressing Ctrl + Alt + Del or any other hot keys to see if it helps you get to the login screen.
This isn't normal behavior. Typically, the timeout for Group Policy processing should be around 10 minutes. If it’s taking more than that, I would think about restarting the virtual machine as a last resort. Just make sure this isn’t wasting a lot of time on an endpoint.
Getting stuck at that stage can sometimes happen, especially if you have things like folder redirection set up. It can be a bit normal, but if it's taking too long, something might be off.

I don't have access to the domain controller, so I can't check from that side. Plus, I can't log in to even get past the applying settings screen.
